AIBU to report NDN's cats for rehoming?

NDN (small close of terraced houses) has six cats. I originally thought they were all hers as they eat there and seem to live there. I gave up picking up all the poo from the garden and just built raised beds so my kids can't access the soil they like. The cats fight loudly and are clearly unneutered as the male sprays everywhere and the females (other 5) are the results of multiple pregnancies. At one point there were 8 or 9 but some seem to have disappeared. They have basically killed all the wildlife and songbirds around us as well as frequently weeing on anything outside our door (which is unfortunate for packages and our veg box).

A week or so ago, the male came into our house and attacked my new kitten and me as I tried to get him out. He literally climbed onto our roof via her windows and in through our window into our room in the middle of the night. I was really scratched up, so told her that we needed to figure out how to keep him out of my house so my two happy indoor cats and I could stay safe. I suggested that she have him neutered to prevent more cats.

Then, she basically said that she was on holiday for 10 days and they are strays that she usually feeds but didn't leave enough food out. She apparently left some on our other NDNs doorstep without asking if she would feed them. They are all over 3 years old and to me, CLEARLY her cats. It turns out she is feeding them in a covered porch and not inside her house as I have always thought.

WIBU to ask a charity/RSPCA to trap and neuter/spay and even rehome them since she has decided not to take any ownership of them?

When she leaves contact a local charity tell them she has abandoned them

Report them as feral to a rescue and they may come and trap them. We have a local one. We took on a dkitten. Feisty but tame now!

Is your kitten ok?

QuinoaWest · 13/10/2021 16:20

God, hope you and your kitten are ok now?

She has a very odd and irresponsible attitude to animal welfare, if she abandoned them to bugger off on holiday for 10 days... Confused

I'd definitely follow through with seeking advice and help from Cats Protection or RSPCA.

Yes, kitten is thankfully fine, just some scratches. We had him checked out as he isn't fully vaccinated yet, and who knows what the feral tom has. My scratches were deeper but healed up okay.
