My very lovely assistant accountant is going on maternity leave and I want to get her something nice. Budget of £70-£100

What did you get as a gift that you really liked when you went on leave? Or are vouchers preferable?

I was taken out for tea as my goodbye but we can’t do that for her so trying to think of alternatives.

I got flowers and a alim rose gift set (sleep bag, bunny and bib I think). Similar to the white company; I’m in Aus.

John Lewis vouchers. Really appreciated as they paid for a baby monitor and a few other bits just as the baby prep was becoming agonisingly expensive

One department bought me an activity centre that turned into a push along play tray. It was superb and took DS from 3 months up to 3 years. It’s still in the loft somewhere 😀

My work really pushed the boat out.
Colleagues clubbed together and bought a selection of items for me and the baby, the most useful of which was a nice blanket.
Then some colleagues also got us things individually eg a hand crocheted blanket which is very special, and various teddies and outfits.
Parents (I’m a teacher) clubbed together for a voucher at a rather drab baby shop but it was very useful. Some parents didn’t contribute to the voucher but got us other things like chocolate, teething toys, and a tree. I love the tree most of all, but can see it wouldn’t work for everyone!

I got a voucher for a make over, plus some Mothercare vouchers for baby stuff.

My boss apologised about the Make-over voucher, as he knew I'd hate it, and tried to tell the lady organising that I'd prefer book tokens, but she wouldn't listen. He was quite right.

I got a breast pump from my (almost exclusively male) colleagues - LOL. So weird at the time (they all watched me open it) but actually really useful in the end and it was a very expensive one!

I got a £125 split between Mothercare and John Lewis gift cards.

A work colleague hand knitted two cardigans, one pink and one white. Everyone else clubbed together and bought a couple of pricey outfits from some expensive shop that I can't remember the name of. And the company that I worked for sent a Harrods teddy bear when DD was born.
