If you invite a friend out for a drink for your birthday do you pay, expect them to pay or split it?

Just rounds as usual.
Same with a meal - we'd either pay for our own or just split the bill (depending on the group).

Will definitely be splitting it 50/50 from now on!

If it’s my birthday at my house I pay for everything but guests normally bring a bottle. If at a restaurant we would split but I would buy some nice wine or champagne for the group as a thank you for celebrating with me. Your friend is a bit tight I think.
