Do schools have any duty of care or sanction for cyber bulling? Girl has assaulted my daughter in school - police involved has been classified as a hate crime (daughter has a disability) girl has now posted malicious content on her. Instagram and also x verbally assaulted me as we live nearby.

School are saying they have no remedy remedies as its out of school? Is this, the actual case?

AIBU - yes - I'm expecting too much
NO - schools should be doing more re Cybercbullng

In DDs school they have been involved in cases of cyber bullying- they take it seriously.

They may well have been told by the police that they have to wait before they can do anything. The school may not be able to intervene as it could impact the police investigation and any subsequent charge or court case. They would be seen to have determined that the act had taken place with intent and prejudiced the prosecution.

Rainbowshine is correct. They do have responsibilities although these powers may ultimately be limited to the usual school range of sanctions - detentions etc - unless the matter was serious enough to warrant an exclusion. However, a police investigation would automatically take precedence over this and school can't interfere (what if, for example, school and the police came to different conclusions about what happened?).

Take screenshots of everything, keep a record / diary of events too.
