Really looking to shift some weight.. it seems there are mixed messages everywhere.. do slimming world they say and eat all the carbs you like … do joe wicks but he says bananas have too much sugar … watching a Netflix thing the other day and they are saying eating eggs every day is as bad as smoking cigarettes.. Jesus I am confused on where/ how to start. 🥴 share with me your weight loss success stories x

I would highly recommend ‘Why We Eat (Too Much)’ by Dr Andrew Jenkinson. He explains how our body works / processes food really clearly. It’s not just calories in calories out.

I'm currently trying to shift 9lbs (4 to go) and calories in/out has worked for me. If I want to eat more I know I have to 'buy it' by doing some exercise.
I was astonished how little I can actually have to maintain my BMR, let alone eating 500 calories under this. It's working though, and was amazed how many calories there are in things like bread and cheese.

I just ignored all current trends and any diet telling me to rid myself of some food geoup (because that's when i REALLY start wanting them🤦), eat less (counted cals but not to the last calorie), worked out and that was it. 50kg in 12 months. I was massive tho. Still some to go, but I don't diet on holidays, borthdays, 1 day a week, Christmas, Eaater... Any special occasionally 🙈
I did though always eat healthy food, just too much of it so I didn't need to really look into healthy eating. That might be bit more job.

And that egg thing. I dunno. I stopped smoking and even after 2-3 eggs a day I feel much better 😂

Thanks people, had a Chinese last night in true night before diet style 🤣. But I think that mindset is part of the problem. I will try eat more nutritious meals, keep an eye on cals, exercise and see how it goes
Some really helpful suggestions thank you x
