To wonder where the hell the cat has been

One of the DCats has sauntered in tonight after being missing since the 27th August.

He is not skinny. He is not looking like he's been ill or injured. He's castrated and has been since we'll before he went AWOL.

Our nearest neighbour is about half a mile away and denied ever seeing him when he vanished. So where the kerfuffle has he been?

WIBU to assume he is a super spy similar to Perry the Platypus and got caught up on a mission and to put a tracker on him so next time I can follow him?

SuperspyCat is very suave looking; definitely the James Bond of the cat world.

Catflapkitkat · 10/10/2021 05:52

Wow - he's a stunna

I imagine he gets quite a bit of attention despite having his twig and berries clipped.

I was reading a cat expert recently and he was talking about 'cat seduction' where neighbours tempt your cat in with treats and food. I think your puss has been seduced.

FlatteredFool · 10/10/2021 06:08

Borrowed cat went awol for 9 months. We were all heartbroken but had a feeling he was alive and well somewhere. Some sightings but blurred photos and looked much bigger. Little bugger turned up at a house over the road (across the main roads on another side road) and had been well fed by many from the look of him and he was perfectly healthy and happy. He now divides his time between his actual owners, us, and his third home. He brought me at mouse at 2am today. 3am a few days ago, steals my nighttime glass of water, claws me under the covers to get my attention to let him out for a wee, and hogs the bed. God I love the furry bugger. I think the mouse gifts mean the feeling is mutual Confused

FlatteredFool · 10/10/2021 06:19

In your shoes I'd get a tracker on him but be aware you might have to then sign the official cat secrets act.

Roystonv · 10/10/2021 06:28

He is very lovely in a superior sort of James Bond way. He has been on a mission and is now back to normal life but still on edge a bit from the days of being a target responsible for the security of the country

dottiedodah · 10/10/2021 06:35

What a handsome chap! I expect he has many homes and devoted human slaves willing to do his bidding .years ago a siamese cat lived next door to me and my parents. He used to tap on the window, if dm was cooking liver!

EffOrf · 10/10/2021 06:36

Cats come into our garden and scoff all the poor hedgehogs food, I thought cats were particular about what they eat, they seem to enjoy Mr Johnson hedgehog food though. DH sent yesterday making a tunnel thing to stop them, one cat was spending ages at the bowl scoffing the whole lot.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 10/10/2021 06:42

That's a very handsome cat. Grey cats are obviously far more intelligent than other cats and thus more suitable for counter espionage activities.
Very pleased he's back, but have you checked the house for a concealed stash of weapons?

Wegobshite · 10/10/2021 06:55

The kennels where I take my dog also boards cats
She has had a few cats over the years come in by different owners who all think it’s there cat 😂
He’s probably been enjoying himself with his second and third families

Exactly what I thought. James Bond of the cat world, I can only imagine the shenanigans he's been up to.

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon

Sorry I did indeed forget the obligatory photo of said superspy Puss. Rectified!!!

8 months!!! Goodness.

@NeverDropYourMooncup I snorted at. Just the customery hey dude obviously.

Hes had some sort of debrief with the others - I assume informing them of the dog uprising or something and how he's single handedly defeated it

I can shed some light on his whereabouts…he has been playing Othello at the Royal Shakespeare Company for the past 6 weeks. Good reviews and he has the right mixture of pathos and menace. The run ended a few days ago Smile

Hunting

See before his absence I would have said not. I've seen him attempt it and he has always been dismal. Clearly its possible I have been played and he is a master of his craft.

Othello

Could be. He is a tad of a dramatic soul. He once stepped outside into a puddle of water where no puddle usually is - hole in the hose - and my goodness ..... the screams, the displeasure, the DISAPPOINTMENT ..... I shudder at the memory.

Ours did this for 4 months then sauntered back in as though nothing had happened. And he too looked very well; no paws in bad condition as though he’d been walking for miles. We live in a small village so he would have been seen.

We joke now that he was having a gap year

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 10/10/2021 07:53

I'm slightly concerned my death is being plotted due to asking too many questions as the cats are having another meeting this morning and Alistair (whose turn it it to speak) is pacing up and down as he does so .....

Superspy Perry and the Ginger who rules us them all appear to be keeping watch from above and are NOT happy to see me outside.

I've got to go down the fields now to sort the animals and am worried I might not return. Dont look for me ... deny all.knowledge and save yourselves!

Was he a rescue cat? (Sorry if this has already been asked). My close relative has a farm and the cat population grew a little too large. He arranged for TNR and for some of the kittens, friendlier cats to be rehomed.

There was a one year old cat who was especially friendly, and, after spaying etc, she went to a couple who sent my relative updates on her progress.

One day, she disappeared. She went missing for seven months, and then reappeared. She was fit and healthy, although her coat was shaggier than usual. It is highly likely she went into the woods and fended for herself.

Since then, she has taken herself off, for shorter periods, quite often. I think she will always need wider spaces and scope to hunt.

Pottedpalm · 10/10/2021 08:09

He looks like the fucker who has been sneaking oh so quietly through our cat flap around 10pm every evening and helping himself to best quality cat food and biscuits while my two ejits sit and watch.
( he is gorgeous though)

userxx · 10/10/2021 08:12

The first photo looks like a mafia meeting. I'd be sleeping with my eyes open if I were you.

Blinkingheckythump · 10/10/2021 08:26

I'm concerned that the cats are plotting a coup and you're going to be out on your ear

My cat rejected some food so I put it out for the hedgehogs, apparently in a bowl inside it is foul, in a bowl outside or scattered or on the path, it's delicious.

She also likes to inspect delivery vans, I have to warn all the drivers, apparently supermarkets have a procedure for 'travelling cats'.

5catsonthedesk · 10/10/2021 09:53

Clearly something is afoot. This morning’s cat conference confirms it. Two of mine had planned to join via Zoom. But the alarm didn’t go off.

He is a very handsome boy. He has been on a modelling assignment in New York I'll wager.

Yes, on the catwalk Grin
TulipCat · 10/10/2021 12:44

@WorraLiberty 😂😂 Wish I'd thought of that!

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 10/10/2021 13:08

I once had a cat go missing for a year and then turn up as though it was nothing. My dad said he had just found someone who fed him better.

OP, your cat is very handsome. I am sure he was on a top sekrit mission to save the world.
