Got YNAB (budgeting app) and started planning properly for my money. Now I know where every penny goes and our net worth has steadily built in a way that feels effortless. I feel so in control.

Online banking helped massively as I was able to check my balance daily. Since the pandemic has made debit card payments more common, it has made it easier to see whay im spending on.

treat savings like a bill - transfer money to savings on pay day and forget about it

@FrenchBoule

What goes in(income) vs what goes out (expenses).

What has to be paid (rent and associated bills)

Then you have how much is left and what to spend it on (food and transport being the most important).

What do you need help with?

Umm. I think there is a bit more to being financially savvy than that. I mean that’s page one of the book surely? What about savings, investments, interest rates, using credit wisely, pensions, mortgages etc?
