Embarrassing professional moments

I had an interview today. I’ve never used Teams before or indeed any online platform, I don’t even work with computers. Applied for a serious office type job. I wasn’t sure if I was connected properly so I gave a cheery Hello to the three interviewers and manically waved to which they all looked puzzled and embarrassed for me. The interview didn’t get much better.

I was a court solicitor for years before children. Mainly family but we are very rural so also covered criminal court duty rota.

I marched outside to get a client in for a hearing, caught my gown on the door and heel in the grate and went flying. Smashed my knees open, wearing a skirt suit.

I was helped up by one of our biggest, most notable local criminal lads. Literally into his arms. Blood everywhere. He was very kind, but I was very green and very sore.

When he was sentenced later that day he asked the sheriff for a discount for his reformed kind character for helping meand then every time he saw me after he rushed to open doors, try and take my arm etc. Lots of jokes about me falling at his feet.

That sounds like the start of a mafia romance novel ... haha.
