AIBU unreasonable to be a bit upset here? DH goes to the gym and put a chilli on to cook before he went. I've got a nasty cold so feel a bit rubbish but I've been pottering at home, looking after the kids but by the time he gets back I'm pretty bloody hungry.

DH serves the chilli and its so hot...I managed about 4 mouthfuls but it's seriously hurting my mouth. DH has a much higher tolerance than me.

So now it's gone 8pm and I've had no dinner. I've just started Slimming World so can't just snack or throw chips in the oven. I actually do feel quite upset by this even though I know it's nothing really.

The recipe said to put cut up chillies on the top and it was dreadful!! Burnt the mouth off myself and threw it out in disgust!!

If he said it was a mistake yabu… unless he purposely made it super hot and had form for being like that?

Surely you could of had guacamole and sour cream rather than being a martyr and not eating any just have less syns on other days Confused

I cook quite a bit of spicy food and tbh its really easy to make it too hot by accident - I did it yesterday with some pakora. Apologised to the family but wasnt going to start again from scratch so they just had to eat them or grab a sandwich.

You could have just picked the chillies off and thrown them away.

Yes, chillies on the top are v easily avoided.
