For applying for a jr role when rejected for the sr one in the same company?

So I applied for a senior role (potentially by mistake as I didn't realise there was a more junior position available). There's this junior role available too, but I'm sure it's the same hiring manager, so maybe a waste of time?

It was a different role @girlmom. At least this other recruiter looked at my LinkedIn, if that's good or bad I don't know.
