Inspired by another thread if that's ok, if not I'll get me coat!

What things are you happy with in your life, mine is that my eldest teenager seems to be emerging from the hideous hormonal stage and is actually lovely to be around, makes me very happy to have him back Grin

My dds who are 8 and 11. I can't fault them they are perfect to me. They are the best thing I've ever created they are hilarious and well behaved and very clever and hard working.

Terribleluck · 04/10/2021 20:07

Husband, toddler, dog, and house :)

FrazzledY9Parent · 04/10/2021 20:08

My colleagues.- they are, in the main, kind, clever, funny and great at their jobs. It's a pleasure to see them again after WFH for so long.

My husband is amazing. We have our disagreements occasionally but he is a great husband and dad, he’s a hard worker, does his share with the house and kids, does a lot for my family and is a general all round good guy. Oh and he’s good in the sack Grin

My kids are pretty great too.

RestingStitchFace · 04/10/2021 20:45

My son's school. He's ASD and most of the ASD parents I know around town appeared locked in constant battles with the education system to ensure their kids get what they needed cope in mainstream. We lucked out as the loveliest Primary in the world is 3 mins from our house. Happy accident - we moved here long before we had DS. We have the kindest Headteacher and the whole school exudes love and care. My boy runs into school, happy as Larry, every day. Smile

My amazing husband and my son. I've always liked my face and hair. Would like to lose a few lbs though!

Letsgetquizzy · 04/10/2021 20:53

Having finally realised what brings me happiness and realising that it is actually a few stolen moments with an Italian grammar book, revisiting the language I learned at university. Takes me back years and it is definitely my happy place and something for me in all the current madness. Much as I love the DC and DH, it has come as a real revelation to find how easy it is to reset.

I am also massively grateful for my parents, who encouraged me to learn foreign languages despite not having had the opportunity to do so themselves, and my ability to learn them.

DontWiltMySpinachPlease · 04/10/2021 20:56

My "natural" make up skills. Finally mastered a good routine.

CaptainChannel · 04/10/2021 20:59

My husband and beautiful DC 😍

workwoes123 · 04/10/2021 21:00

The colour of my hair.

I've always been a kind of dull blonde, and have dyed it more exciting colours throughout my life. I grew all the colour out a while ago, and it has turned out a lovely strawberry blonde with white (not grey) streaks that look like highlights. My hairdresser made me promise not to colour it again, and said that she spends hours trying to create my hair colour for other people! I was well chuffed.

bicyclesaredeathtraps · 04/10/2021 21:00

I'm very happy with my hair, now that I have learned to look after it properly (it's curly). I am learning to appreciate and care for my body having been brought up without all of those skills, so I am happy that I now know how to do basic make up, shave etc.
My friends. The progress I've made in therapy.

CoffeeRunner · 04/10/2021 21:01

My children. My job & I also love where we live. I mean, we could do with an extra bedroom but it's a lovely village & a great place for kids to grow up whilst being only 30 mins from a major city by train for work, shopping, socialising etc.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 04/10/2021 21:09

My mum. I dont know what I'd do without her. I'm 30 years old and she still takes care of me.

I'm disabled so she comes and cleans my house twice a week, she makes sure I take my meds (I'm also severely mentally unwell) she makes phone calls for me (oh yeah, autistic too and I despise phone calls!) When she can, and when I have to do it she is there for me to offload to when I'm finished.

We speak over whatsapp every single day, we send pics of our cats, my children, she sends me silly pictures she's found amusing, and sends me jokes just to make me laugh.

I've not eaten much for 3 days and mum is die round tomorrow. She's told me she's going to make my favourite egg and plastic cheese on toast to try and encourage me to eat a bit more.

Also my best friend (waves Grin she's on MN) she knows me better than I know myself and we talk every day over messenger or Snapchat. She's always there for me to moan at when I need to, she helps me put the world to rights and she is paying for my sons school trip because his waste of space dad wouldn't even pay half. She's the best auntie to them and I honestly don't want to imagine my life without her in it. She's amazing and deserves the world and more.

My marriage, my relationships with my mum, brother & sil, my friends, the colour scheme in my living room, my eyebrows and my nails.

My life generally. Me, DH and D.C. are healthy. We have enough money. We like our house. I have good mates and fun hobbies. I sleep well. Im retired now but still have goals and ambitions.

cammy1188 · 04/10/2021 21:21

My gorgeous 8 month old DS. He is the cutest baby and so so happy. Also I have the best dog in the world. And my husband is lovely when he doesn’t drive me nuts 🤣 I thank my lucky stars every single day.

Eeiliethya · 04/10/2021 21:24

My DD - she's 4 and an absolute pocket rocket. Fearless and witty. I wish I was more like her.

My Career - can't believe I have found a career I absolutely adore yet pays well.

My home - recently moved and my living room is perfection to me. The rest of the house isn't finished but I don't GAF. This room is my sanctuary.

My family - I feel really lucky to have such a caring and close family (DM, siblings etc). We can all be cantankerous cunts but who doesn't have their moments.

My DP - he will do Wink

thefirstmrsrochester · 04/10/2021 21:25

bumblingbovine49 · 05/10/2021 08:01

In my life? Absolutely nothing

I'm clear sighted enough to know that this is mostly based on my generally negative outlook personality and laziness but in all honesty no, there is nothing at all in my life I am even close to 100% happy with. Absolutely everything I can think of is a compromise of one sort or another

Dobbyhasnomaster · 05/10/2021 08:30

My cat, my dad and grandparents, my house. My dad has helped me so much to get my house sorted and nice, always picks up little jobs without me realising they need doing and always without a fuss. Such a wonderful man.
