To spend £80 on a soft toy

My dd (12) has asked for a soft toy of a character from animal crossing which I would have to get handmade as no where sells them.
I have been quoted £80 to have it made by someone on etsy. I am crazy to spend £80 on a plush toy?

We have this much on a steiff soft toy but wouldn’t on just normal toy with no value

If you can afford it and it’s actually worth it. We spent a lot of money on a build a bear Pikachu thing that spoke which kept terrifying me every time I made the bed which very quickly just lived discarded in a corner. I do think £80 on a soft toy for a 12 year old is a bit much to be honest.

I'm sure it's a very reasonable price to charge for a custom, handmade toy on the part of the Etsy seller. I wouldn't, however, think it was worth spending that much money on a soft toy.

I am not sure in the specific case of Animal Crossing, but some game developers have given free reign for people to make plushies/art based on their characters.

yes some copyright holders do allow this and others will sell licences but the OP should check

I would give her the money and ask her if she wants to but the toy.

My DS asks for random stuff but when he realised what else he could get for that amount he often changes his mind.

Gosh, I love animal crossing but that’s more than the game cost! I would maybe look at getting something else made with the character, like a funny T-shirt with one of their catch phrases
