Help!! Need a dress in 8 days that won’t make me look like a whale!

I’ve recently hit the gym for first time, hired a PT, lockdown has me looking 40 and frumpy. I’m feeling great, first time since kids I did anything just for me, like I can actually have a smidge of confidence, I have a charity ball in 8 days which I wasn’t going to but I’ve now got courage to, I’ve lost half a stone, but I’m still big and apple shaped. I need a size 22 (or 24 if it’s built for people with no boobs) I’m short and round 😭 But don’t want to look it. There’s bugger all in shops as you know, it’s all lounge wear! Help me find a dress that’s flattering, and can be delivered by next Saturday! pleeeeeeeese! I’m open to most colours but black is my go to! Heeeelp! It’s black tie. So needs to be glam! I don’t know where to start.

I love some of these thanks ladies, is full length the way to go though? I’m worried I’ll look like a marque 😢 I had no idea that coast did my size (they DID NOT when I was a teenager and never even thought of ASOS. I love the first one I think, but wonder if I should be brave on colour!

I don’t think black tie has to be full length, I never wear full length because I’m only 5ft 3 so feel that they swamp me and make me look shorter.

At the last black tie I went to there was probably a 50/50 mix of full and just below knee length I would say!

I had a very lovely beaded dress from Phase 8/Studio 8 a while back for a black tie do, it was really flattering. Very similar to this one which is currently on sale and looks like the have your size.

Ok I’ve bought one from simply because, one from ASOS, one from next! Let’s hope something looks reasonable! Keep any more coming! If I love them all I’ve told husband we’re doing posh date nights for months!!

If it was me I would probably get a plain black kaftan from Amazon and then dress it up with glittery bracelet and necklace.

Black tie ball means, to me, go long. Black tie cocktail would be short.

I love the dresses from Coast, they are in your size and they do next day delivery. As a plus size myself, I’ve always found Coast dresses to be flattering and they also always make me feel special.
