To ask if there is such a thing as hoodless onesies for teens/ preteens?

The fleecy ones all seem to have hoods. I want some that are fleecy but without hoods so they can sleep in them when camping etc. If anyone has seen them around can you let me know where please.

this one goes up to 12-14 years if that's big enough?

That’s fab for one of them. Thank you. Will search for a plain one for my eldest - now I know what else to search for - onesie sleep suit

I think they are the only ones made! You’d think a hoodless onesie would be more common!

what age do you need it for? I'll have a search too :)

Unreasonabubble · 30/09/2021 21:35

I question why you want hoodless ones when they are camping? The initial point where we lose our heat is from our heads first. Why not buy them a hooded one? If the worst happened and it was warmer than expected, then just don't put the hoodie up.

Unreasonabubble · 30/09/2021 21:36

This is not a criticism by the way, it is just an observation.

Bloatstoat · 30/09/2021 21:36

These aren't fleece but my 6 year old loves his - he fits on a larger child size, but they do adult sizes which might be ok for a teen, could be good for camping

There's loads on Etsy! I bought one for camping in the summer.

monkeysox · 30/09/2021 21:51

BHS used to do them years ago 😊

RosiePosieDozy · 30/09/2021 21:53

Primark! They usually do fleecy pyjama material ones without hoods. Cheap and warm. If they ruin them camping, it's not the end of the world.

fruitpastille · 30/09/2021 21:53

I just get fleece pjs from primark. Much easier for going to the loo camping.

Lovinghannah · 01/10/2021 08:31

No help at all sorry but also intrigued as to why you can't wear a hood while sleeping?

Tuliprain · 01/10/2021 11:16

Don’t like them wearing hoods when sleeping as they are a hazard for suffocation plus they don’t always want the hood up and then they are bunched around their necks.

I need one suitable for a girl (she’s quite girly) aged about 11/12 and one for a boy about 13/14 plain if possible.

You can add hood/feet etc to these, but they come without as standard.

BestZebbie · 01/10/2021 14:22

Having a hood down and the fabric (and possibly cords) bunched around your neck as you lie on it is a strangulation hazard when sleeping. To keep your head warm when camping, wear a beanie, not a hood!

Thanks. I thought I was being overprotective for a minute but glad someone agrees with me!

lands end do a different design to the one i linked above

I know it's a bit off a faff, but if your ds won't wear the patterned one, you could always pop it in the washing machine with a dye pod (like this)

You’ve linked to the pattern one. He wasn’t a big fan of that one although I liked it. I’m not sure they do a plain one as I did have a good look. Thank you though.

I’m so glad you’ve asked this question, I’m always on the hunt for hood less onesies.

Sleeping with a hood on is a big no no in my house because of risk of strangulation. I thought that was pretty standard.

You would think they’d be lots around but apart from the lands end one I can’t find any online!

If you want to splash out, make a custom one from the All In One Company. Both of mind have them and they’ve lasted for years (bought on the big side), and they are completely amazing. They’re very good value per west given how long they’ve had them!

With a link! They do all sorts, with and without hoods, tails, ears, mittens...
