To buy sertraline online?

I'm struggling terribly with my anxiety at the moment. I've had bad anxiety since primary school age, but during the past couple of years it's been getting worse and worse, to the point where my husband is begging me to seek help.

I'm desperate to try medication as I can barely function anymore - even going to the supermarket or getting on the bus on my own feels overwhelming.

I finally plucked up the courage to ring my GP for a phone appointment but both times I called I've been told there were none available and to ring back.

Is there anywhere you can buy sertraline safely online without having to see a GP?

I'm really at my wit's end and need something to help.

Why are you so anti seeing your GP in person?

@LittleGlebe I have terrible social anxiety so would much rather do over the phone if possible. The social anxiety is only one part of it though - I feel constantly anxious and on edge about everything and can't seem to stop it.

And btw my GP is usually shit! I've never been able to get a same day appointment for serious physical concerns in 17 years. But they did get me attended to in hours that day, purely based on mental health.

Were you born overseas or do you just not have much experience of UK healthcare? I’m sorry that you’ve been suffering for 2+ years already, so I’ll try to break it down for you.

No you can’t google medications and self-prescribe.
You can’t just fill in an online pharmacy form and get a new prescription medication.
If you can’t afford £50 for a private GP consultation then you definitely can’t afford a long term private prescription either.
No you can’t just buy it online safely because how will you know what’s in it?!
In order to get a same day GP appointment you just have to call at 8am or whenever they open.
If receptionist asks for details again just politely say no thank-you. They’re only trying to triage who the Dr needs to call first thing urgently anyway.
Hardly anyone in the UK seems to be able to get a face to face GP appointment these days even when they’ve got cancer, so I think it’s highly unlikely they’ll insist upon this. If they say otherwise just mention the covvie and I’m sure you can have telephone appointment.

I appreciate that you have complex anxiety but I really feel like you are over complicating this for yourself. Make the call, get a prescription. You could have it sorted by this time tomorrow.

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources.

We'd strongly recommend calling 111 - Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support.

We're going to close this thread now, as we can't guarantee the safety of buying medication online.
