Calling all list writers (light hearted)

This is a light hearted thread.
I've been wondering - if you like writing lists, as I do, if you complete a task that was not on the list, do you then add it on to the list and then cross it off?
Or am I completely barking mad? 🙈😂

Of course. I love lists. My Christmas list is epic. I do all the food, so I've got my list of recipes right through from 23rd to the 1st, then a list all the ingredients of each of those recipes, colour coded as to whether it's green grocer, fishmonger, butcher, buy ahead etc.
And I've got the countdown list for the things I make ahead of time.

Grin Oh yes, I do that.
Sometimes, I make a list of my lists.
On bad days, I make a list of things I've already done, then cross them off!
No hope for me at all!

Chipperfish · 27/09/2021 17:43

On bad days I start with things that can easily be ticked off
eg 'Write List'

Confusedmeanderings · 28/09/2021 01:07

I second @Clarinet1. I put things I'll obviously do on my lists too. Also my list for each day has to start with Get Dressed. I don't know why - perhaps subconsciously I think I'll forget to do it if it isn't on the list Blush

Every day

I asked my DH last weekend to add a task that we had both just done, so then he could cross it off Grin

There is a specific german word for “taking pleasure in crossing things off a list”. DH and I can never remember how to pronounce it, so we just say we are “list-en-cross-en-off-en-ing”

And the rules say that you should definitely add extra jobs onto the list. Otherwise when you look at the list at the end of the day, you wont get the full measure of what you have accomplished.

We sometimes split jobs on the list into two parts, so that we can cross off the first bit (especially if the second bit cant be done that day)
