I think it's lovely and fine for a wedding.

I've seen a lot of wedding photos over the last couple of months, at least 6 weddings, and there seems to be a wide variety of outfits being worn. Wear it with a smile and confidence and enjoy yourself!

thing47 · 27/09/2021 12:30

I've been to weddings on each of the past 2 weekends, neither particularly formal nor religious. For both this dress would have been absolutely fine.

I guess some people might think it's not formal enough for a big church wedding, but I think it's lovely.

ComtesseDeSpair · 27/09/2021 12:55

It’s perfectly fine for a wedding, but not a very flattering dress. I think unless you’re tall and willowy you’ll look a bit like a sack.

Eralos · 27/09/2021 12:58

I probably wear that to work… it’s nice though you can dress it up and dress is down. So I’m sure you’ll look lovely.

Shirleyphallus · 27/09/2021 12:59

It’s absolutely fine but not very inspiring

Stuckhere2021 · 27/09/2021 13:01

Yes.

EatYourVegetables · 27/09/2021 13:30

I only once got stuff from Shein (2 dresses) and they were awful quality. Really not like in a picture, thin and plasticy and with uneven seams so they didn’t hold their shape well. They were very cheap but unwearable. I’m not very fashionable and definitely a snob re clothes, I wear H&M, Next, some Primark, so this was very obviously unwearable.

If you do decide to get it, perhaps leave enough time to get another item in case this one doesn’t work out.

Cheekytea · 27/09/2021 13:30

Thanks everyone

This was my second choice : https://m.shein.co.uk/Plus-Surplice-Neck-Floral-Embroidery-Mesh-Dress-p-3426435-cat-1889.html?scici=plussize~~ONSliderBanner,CNNcategory,HZ0,HII0~~4111~~real1889~~~~

It's totally fine, though the quality will be pretty meh from Shein.

Looks lovely ☺️

Cheekytea · 27/09/2021 13:32

First item I ever ordered of the internet so I don't hold much hope for it but hey we never know x

Conversely, I've ordered quite a bit from Shein and the quality has been fine! Make sure you check the reviews carefully as people will say if the material is see through/dodgy or the garment fits poorly. I think both of those are fine for a wedding. I'd probably go for the first as it looks quite versatile and easily dressed up/down for other events or places.

Flufferty · 27/09/2021 13:34

I like the first one, not so keen on the second

inappropriateraspberry · 27/09/2021 13:36

It's a pretty dress, but may be a bit short - particularly for a church wedding. Plus, you don't want to be worrying about flashing your pants if it's windy or when dancing later on!

inappropriateraspberry · 27/09/2021 13:37

Your second choice may be more appropriate.

For £15 you could buy a pre-loved dress off eBay / Depop or wherever and get something much nicer quality.

inappropriateraspberry · 27/09/2021 13:41

You could spend £15 on a supermarket and get better quality!

Cheekytea · 27/09/2021 13:42

I never ordered from shein or online ever so please be nice when you say better quality will see when it turns up 😂

OP posts:
inappropriateraspberry · 27/09/2021 13:46

If you've no experience ordering online, I'd stick to actual shops if you can. It's always better to physically see and feel the clothes, plus you can try them on before buying!

Cheekytea · 27/09/2021 13:48

I wished I could try them on before buying no still no changing rooms open..

OP posts:
inappropriateraspberry · 27/09/2021 13:49

Not in all shops! Many have reopened fitting rooms.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 27/09/2021 13:49

Not fussed about the first one but the second one is lovely.
