UC help, I'm losing my mind

Please advise me, is it possible to apply for EU settlement scheme while being British citizen with British passport???
3 mths ago we started getting requests from UC for my husband (British) to provide proof of settled status in UK. We wrote and explained million times that he doesn't have settled status because he has British citizenship. Latest message is: if you haven't applied, you need to do it. Am I losing my mind, or the guy from UC has no idea what he's asking for..?

@JasperHale I mean just in case, take the passport, but also take anything else you have that is ID, in case they ask for it. Just in case. Better to take too much stuff than them have forgot to ask and you have to go back.

Finally got an update, people who have acquired British citizenship since they applied need a new hrt, we have to raise an incident with our tech team to raise a todo for you to change the nationality then it goes to a decison maker who would request a copy of the passport to verify, (which is why your husband had to take his to the jobcentre) and they will record the new nationality on the system and it will stop happening.

Thanks @Musereader, we asked them 4 mths ago if they wanted to see it, instead the guy told him to apply for settlement.
