I'm sorry as I normally hate these threads and always swore never to post one.
I was diagnosed with a UTI yesterday. Despite my GP having had the results since early afternoon I didn't get a call back until 6pm with a prescription, this is despite me calling the surgery again at 3pm and 5pm to advise I was getting worse, I was in severe pain plus being sick. I took the first lots of antibiotics at 6.30pm. I'm also 21 weeks pregnant.
The antibiotics haven't made a difference yet, however I am being sick so the likelihood is I've already thrown them up. I'm getting worse. The pain is getting worse, there is now blood in my urine (it's definitely in my urine and not coming from baby as it's only there when I wipe) and I have pain in my side. Google tells me it is now looking like a kidney infection.
I really don't want to call my GP again in the morning as it will be the same situation as yesterday and I won't get another prescription until 6pm again. Considering the pain I am in (it is stopping me sleeping) and that I can't keep anything down so I must be getting dehydrated would IBU to present at A+E? It wouldn't be until the morning as I have a daughter I have to get to school (already sorted someone to take her). The most amount of sleep I have had is 2 hours which coincided with me taking paracetamol which I managed to keep down, I've just took some more though and I threw them straight back up.

Glad you went in and they're sorting you out, hopefully you'll be feeling better soon.

I had consistent UTI’s when I was pregnant and ended up with a kidney infection at one point. It was horrific. Go to A&E if you feel you need to. Please.

I am very much not a medical professional but I think UTIs in pregnancy have a risk of causing membrane rupture / early labour. It’s not unusual to be fibbed off, please make a big fuss, perhaps even ask them to confirm that this risk is not a concern, it might sharpen their focus?
