Drives me nuts, is it just me?

DH is prime candidate for this, conversation this evening -
DH: How much does it cost to go to Disneyland Orlando?
Me: Dunno, think I read somewhere it's about £10k for a family of 4 but I'm not sure
DH: No. Colleague told me it cost them £6k for 4 of them

....okay, so why are you asking me FFS? He does it all the time, can't tell if he's trying to catch me out or if he thinks his mates are lying to him.

Yes I'm aware this is trivial, I'm having a rant as he's done it a couple of times this week.

That is aggravating!

DH often wants me to choose where or what to eat but If I don't guess what he wants he gets annoyed. Why make me guess?

He also gives me presents for Xmas and birthdays but says "I don't think you'll like it". He's always right, I don't like it, why has he bought it?

Otherwise he is very nice though so I've learned to let it go.

seaandsandcastles · 21/09/2021 20:30

If you’re planning on going to a destination, you probably should know the name of that destination as a starting point.

To OP, if you’re interested in WDW Florida the costs will vary depending on whether you stay on site or off, and if you stay on site whether that’s value, moderate or deluxe. It can vary from £4k to upwards of £30k. It just depends on your budget and what you want.

seaandsandcastles · 21/09/2021 20:30

Sorry, the start of that last comment was to @Mymapuddlington.

Mymapuddlington · 21/09/2021 20:31

That’s really not the point of the post though is it

So? It’s a forum, threads ebb and flow.
Puffalicious · 21/09/2021 20:33

seaandsandcastles such arsey, unnecessary behaviour. With your unasked for information on travel I take it you're a) not good at reading what the OP asked 2) not good at reading the room 3) one of these adult, Disney aficionados which is, imho, really fucking weird and infinitely boring.

BarefootHippieChick · 21/09/2021 20:36

Disney Land Park is in california
Disney Land World is in Florida

But anyway...op, my husband has a friend who constantly asks his advice on things..."Should I buy this brand of dishwasher?" "What drill would you recommended?" Etc. My husband gives his honest opinion. Friend buys completely different brand...every time...then complains when it's not exactly what he wanted. Husbands nickname for him is now askhole.

Sorry, Disney World, no Land that should say...
Theflamingnerd · 21/09/2021 20:38

I really don't care about the location of any kind of Disney resort/park whatever you want to call it, be it Florida or Orlando. Similarly in don't care how much it costs. It was merely an example of the behaviour... But you sure seem fun @seaandsandcastles

Anyway Hmm

The food one does my head in too... If we're ordering take away he'll ask what I want, then proceed to say no to anything I suggest. Well wtf do you want then?! It could be worse I guess, I could live with someone like sandcastles

Hopesakiller · 21/09/2021 20:39

I think I might be married to your DH @Gliblet

Dh: which tyres should we get for the car
Me: I don't care, whichever you think best
Dh: but which of these two should we get?
Me: I really don't know
Dh: can you just give me some input please
Me: ok, those ones look studier
Dh: explains why that is the wrong decision
Arghhh

RonniePickering · 21/09/2021 20:39

😳😂

seaandsandcastles · 21/09/2021 20:40

“Florida or Orlando”? Grin I think you need to retake geography, OP. Orlando is in Florida.

Mymapuddlington · 21/09/2021 20:40

Oh give it a rest already. Go find a hobby.

Mymapuddlington · 21/09/2021 20:42

@Hopesakiller
My ex was like that.
Ex - what do you want for dinner?
Me - not fussed, whatever.
Ex - well I might order takeaway.
Me - ok
Ex - so what takeaway do you want?
Me - really don’t mind you pick.

On and on and on until I say ok let’s go for Indian and he pulls a face and says he fancied Chinese though urrrrgh

Rosebel · 21/09/2021 20:45

Like a PP my husband does this with times
He'll ask me what time I want to leave.
I'll say a time
He'll say no I think we should leave at this time.
Don't fucking ask me then.
He actually did this exact thing last night. I have told him before if he's made a decision then tell me. Apparently he wants my input even though he obviously has no intention of listening to me.

iklboo · 21/09/2021 20:49

It costs £0 to go to Disneyland Orlando because it doesn’t exist. There’s Disneyland Paris, and Walt Disney World Florida though.

Everyone knows what OP / her DH meant. Does it bloody matter?

ripples101 · 21/09/2021 20:49

I kinda like sea castles’ pedantic comments in this thread. They seem kinda apt, and they would have been a good response to the OP’s husband - pedantically correcting him when he asked a question that he already had an answer for!!

Theflamingnerd · 21/09/2021 20:58

I genuinely had to check if I'd accidentally posted in pedants corner.

My geography is fine btw, just covering my bases to keep everyone happy. It could've been Peppa Pig land in Turkmenistan*, the franchise and the location really wasn't the point.

*As far as I'm aware this doesn't actually exist, but feel it's necessary to point out the sarcasm at this point

Although I do like @ripples101 suggestion to wear DH down with pedantic answers!

OP posts:
beigebrownblue · 21/09/2021 20:59

my teeanger is a bit like that
i.e. black is white, white is black etc.

I've lived in a cupboard all my life and know nothing....

I'm trying to let her get on with it. But struggle not to say 'I told you so'.

billy1966 · 21/09/2021 21:02

Yea, I have had this on occasion but I shut it down very effectively with answering every question with "no idea" on a loop for a few days.

Try it.😁

The food thing, I suggest something for dinner and husband suggests a couple of other things.

I know I can be cranky as fxck about food because I am sick of thinking of dinners and we are only getting back into them.

So I suggested he either agree with my suggestion or take over the task of cooking as I really have zero interest in any circular discussion!

Catlover77 · 21/09/2021 21:14

@seaandsandcastles

I like your preciseness. If you’re going to state something, get your facts right. Nowt wrong with that
Theflamingnerd · 21/09/2021 21:20

@catlover77

Given that I don't know if it's officially Disney World Florida or Disney World Orlando* my statement of Florida or Orlando was correct in the context, and nothing to do with a lack of geographical knowledge.

*Or any variation thereof, not limited to but including; DisneyWorld, DisneyWorld Resort, Disney World Resort, Disney Land, DisneyLand

OP posts:
wigglerose · 21/09/2021 21:20

I know someone like this. Drives me potty because she'll get you in an endless loop of questions as her anxiety spirals that she already knows the answer too.

YesPleaseMary · 21/09/2021 21:21

My DH kind of does this but with staggeringly simple things that drive me insane because it’s he’s degree educated, does a complicated sciencey type job and should therefore be capable of these things.
It’s usually online stuff like renewing car tax or logging into the bank. He always always asks me and behaves as though he’s having to jump through millions of complex and unnecessary hoops when really it’s because he —won’t—can’t follow the fucking instructions. So he declares that it’s all too complicated and doesn’t work properly and huffs and puffs like a grumpy old man.
