To ask my doctor for diazepam for the dentist?

I have a long standing fear of the dentist which began in childhood. It ebbs and flows over the years, however 6 months ago I went for a cleaning and then a checkup, and I was so anxious I gagged during both appointments which has now made my anxiety even worse.

I’ve had diazepam once for a flight and they worked really well. Can a doctor prescribe these again to take the edge off my nerves for the dentist? Or does it have to be the dentist? I’ve got appointments in a couple of weeks which I am already working myself up about.

GP.

Yanbu, they're great. I've used them for MRIs etc. It gets the necessary jobs done. As long as you tell them in case it reacts with any drugs they may use.

Ask your dentist not your doctor! Dentistry nothing to do with GPs.

dentist can also prescribe diazepam. mine gave me a prescription for a root canal (just 1 pill to be taken an hour before) did the job.
