Ed Davey was on Marr this morning agreeing that the party had banned a woman from standing as an MP for 10 years for wearing a tshirt with the slogan woman: adult human female. I thought it extreme but if that's the line the party takes well it's in the open.

Just watched Ed now on Politics North say he and the party are all in favour of free speech so Roy Chubby Brown should be allowed to perform. Roy Brown is known for sexist, racist & homophobic blue jokes.

YABU to expect the leader of a political party to hold the same view for a whole 60 minutes.
YANBU On something as important as freedom of speech you don't get to cherry pick.

He just wouldn't answer the question as to what an adult female was. I am not as involved as some of you in here are - but that really annoyed me

I get the feeling he's not really allowed to answer as such, because the frothing mob would be on him like flies on shite.

So it's almost like a game of political charades where he dances around the word miming and making weird noises, but not actually saying anything of substance, because he can't use actual normal words that people generally use to describe things properly, as this might offend the glittery narcissists.

Also, as per my first post, he is being funded by a pharmaceutical company who are invested in this ideology as it will make them millions.

Nothing says privilege like wilfully ignoring how the erosion of sex based rights impacts all women but especially the poorest in the world. Just ignore these pesky virtual threads whilst women who rely on the definition of sex to advance their education projects in Africa; to fund their period poverty work across the world; to campaign on issues like female infanticide in India etc. But yy I can see if it bores some privileged person on MN we should all just shut up about it.

Being Yorkshire based there have been a lot of conversations about Chubby Brown and the Sheffield booking cancellation. Do I like his humour? 100% not but I don't think he should be cancelled.

Do you not think 10 years is long for a 'wrong' tshirt crime? Do you sincerely believe a man would have got the same?

He's said repeatedly that there should be no spaces where male people are not allowed to go (women's prisons, girl guides, etc etc).

Really weird imo to come out so explicitly against the Equality Act.

Ed Davey really showed his true colours today, and they are the shades of an arsehole.
