To think a major fast food chain has a responsibility to protect their female staff from sexual harassment

DD16. Started work a month ago. Has been reporting the constant sexual harassment by the Deliveroo/Uber eat drivers since she started. Management say they are aware of the problem but can’t do anything about it as they don’t work for the company.

  • DD has been grabbed twice by these men
  • constantly harassed for her phone number
  • they’ve moved the girls off the delivery counter and put boys on there for a time but then moved them back when they were short staffed
  • asked how old she is and leered at
  • refused to give order numbers unless she gives a phone number

I’ve told her to quit but she won’t.

I suspect that the management will be wary of making this an issue, as, if it's anything like the delivery drivers around here, they'll be scared of it turning into a racial discrimination matter as most of the delivery drivers are from ethnic minorities. It's easier for the local management to put the lads on the counter rather than tackle the issue as they're scared of racial discrimination law suits etc.

Tweet this thread to Uber and Deliveroo and ask them how to handle the situation of their adult drivers sexually harassing underage girls.

Which fast food chain is this?
My eldest works at Mcdonalds and they can and do ban Uber / Just Eat delivery drivers if they are abusive to a member of staff.
