Returned shoes stuck in Netherlands!

Netherlandspost · 14/09/2021 16:51

I bought some shoes from Steve Madden, from the UK online shop.
Wanted to return them, was told I had to return them to THE NETHERLANDS and pay for the privilege - £14.10!!!

I did what I was told, sent them via the post office, but they have been in the Netherlands since the 9th AUGUST and haven't reached the company's warehouse.
The tracking says 'due for delivery today' but the date is the 17th August..... No updates since then.

I have had several emailed back and forth from the company I bought the shoes from, and they've just said there's nothing they can do, and as I sent it it's up to me to CALL the Netherlands postal service and find out what the delay is?!

They have also now changed things so any UK returns go back to the UK warehouse.....funny that....but it doesn't help me.

I have so far spent £85 on shoes, £14.10 on sending them back, and have nothing to show for it.

The last email from them said the shoes will be returned to me as they weren't collected, but will they, and am I then going to incur more charges to get them back (customs etc)?

Can anyone help?

Surely it's not unreasonable to expect Steve Madden to refund me??

I have tried the post office but can only get £50 back as a 'undelivered parcel', and that is still ongoing so I don't even know if I will get that.
Paypal said I don't have a case.
I have asked my bank to look into it.

Glad to see you've got your refund but I have to ask, what were you thinking when you posted that off to Europe without a return address? You should put a return address on the back of everything you send, even if it's a birthday card.

I've never sent anything without sticking my return label on the back. I cant believe the post office accepted it without your return address, they need it for customs and all sorts.

I have a Paypal refund!!! Woo hoo!

TheWoleb - I haven't ever posted anything overseas before, I just did what they asked, I assumed it would all go smoothly as 99% of shopping I do is online and haven't ever had a problem. I didn't know posting overseas would create such a drama. I will know for next time! ☺

Just saw this now, oh my what a palaver!!!
Glad you got your money back - just shows that hassling the vendor until they relent is the only way to goGrin

Happy to have helped where I could, OP. I was getting rather concerned that you'd be waiting forever for a resolution so this is excellent news.

Now we’ll see if the shoes come back! 😂

...makes mental note to never buy from Steve Madden online.

UPDATE (and name change! 🤣)

The shoes have come back to me in todays post!!!!!!

So they never bothered collecting them or paying whatever needed paying, and they got returned to me, and luckily my address WAS on the label!

Originally posted to them on the 6th August 2021!!!!

I think I’ll keep them after all this hassle! 👡👡

Cheers! Wine

thanks for update... do they actually fit? Y did you return them?

Wishingwell2022 · 01/02/2022 21:18

They didn’t match an outfit I’d planned to wear to a wedding so I got a different pair, but they do fit! 😏
