Do you want your 12-15 year old to have the Covid vaccine when it is available?

With the announcement that Covid vaccines for children aged 12-15 will most likely be going ahead in the next few weeks, I am just wondering if you have children in this age group do you want them to get the Covid vaccine? Would have put it this in the Covid board but no voting option there.

YANBU = yes
YABU = no

I actually dont know anyone in RL who wants their kids to have it and I would be really interested to know if it was a location thing, I really dont think its a class thing as my kids go to private school and I spend time with their friends/class mothers and my family are working class. I am from the NW*

And I don’t know a single person who doesn’t want their kids vaccinated. As far as I am aware every single one of my 18 year olds friends has had it and everyone is delighted that it’s being rolled out[/quote]

You've copy and pasted a quote that wasn't mine.
I was responding to the part you have quoted - like you, I don't know anyone with teens who don't want their child vaccinated.

Of course, DS 13 will definitely be having it. 18 year old has already had both jabs.

Curious around a related question if anyone has a view - I'm in Singapore where if you are over 12 and unvaccinated you cannot eat out, freely go to the cinema, participate in some sports, a few other other measures including some tentative travel schemes. Would this limitation change your view at all in terms of risk:benefit for those currently on the fence or unwilling for their child to have the vaccine?

Overall we are still under strict restrictions across the board and borders are shut, despite being one of the highest vaccinated countries in the world. But that's a whole other thread...

"Still waiting for my eldest to get his as part of the vulnerable group. Spoke to Dr who agreed it but still waiting."

Us to. The GP said ds is eligible but he has not yet been offered an appointment as have many others I know.They should do this group first before starting on the healthy 12 to 15 year olds. They could start by doing the school vaccinations in special schools first leaving smaller numbers to be done by GPs.

@Underhisi @Underhisi
This thread prompted me to contacted our GP again for an update and coincidentally there is a vaccine session today for eligible 12-15 year olds, which my DC will be added to. Good news, may be worth you doing similar.

Two of my children have been vaccinated as I am CEV.
The third is too young. They, the unvaccinated child, caught Covid two weeks ago and had to live with my sister until they were negative.

No one else in the house caught Covid - as we are all vaccinated or double vaccinated. I was surprised at this and expected all of us to have it.

I’d definitely say vaccinate
