In expecting not to get thrown out of a charity shop for having a pram?

I am fuming! I was asked to leave a charity shop today because they no longer allow prams in. When I asked why, I was told that prams lead to stealing! I have donated and bought a lot of stuff from this shop, well never again!

LOL
I have not had this in the charity shops yet, but the security guard in Monsoon deffo gives me the evil eye every time I go in!

I couldn't give a toss though. I like to speed up every now and again as I go round which makes him very twitchy! LOL

i get followed round somerfield if i take the buggy in there. i have stopped using the baskets provided and shove the shopping under the buggy, just to get the secruioty guard excited, then he gets all fed up when i unload everything at the till.

i admit it, i have nothing better to do.

"I was invited to go to a 'Christmas Fayre' at a local church hall the other day. I was thinking it might be nice - until I saw the flier said 'no prams or buggies inside the hall'. What, so nobody with a baby or toddler can come in? Talk about alienating your target audience."

That's probably due to H&S - if there are too many prams or buggies in there in case of an emergency is can make exiting more difficult....

Same reason why at the Childrens Centre (run by Sure Start) I was made to take DS3 then aged about 4 months old (who was sleeping) out of his pram and "park" the pram in the buggy park - even though there was a very large space where I could have put him to sleep at the group O was attending.

Our local boots closed the parent and baby room - apparently too many people taking shopping in, hiding it in their prams and stealing it.

Needless to say it was the ONLY proper feeding/changing place in the town centre

contact your local newspaper, i no i would.

I recently had a rant at staff in Debenhams because I couldn't get the buggy anywhere near the changing room. Their excuse was "this used to be the children's section".

Hmmm.

I can actually understand why shops are cautious about prams/pushchairs cos it must be so easy to shoplift with them. The other day I got half way down the street and realised I had accidentally shoplifted something in the top of ds' pushchair . I rushed back and paid for it (was so worried I'd get caught shoplifting going back in!!!) but can see how easy it must be to steal that way.

It is a sad world though when parents with children are prime shoplifting suspects!!
