COVID vaccine before or after ovulation?

I’m posting here for traffic.

I have recently been through ivf but had to freeze my embryos. I’ve got to wait 2-3 cycles to have my embryo transfer.

I know that the vaccine can affect periods and cycle length. I don’t want my cycles to be messed up drastically as it then messes up the dates for embryo transfer and I don’t want it delayed months and months if my period is really delayed. Also if my cycles get messed up I don’t want it ruining my womb lining for embryo transfer.

I have tried to research to see if there is an optimum time to get the vaccine so it is less likely to mess up cycles but I can’t find anything.

To avoid disruption, does anyone know if it is best to have it:
During my period
Before ovulation
After ovulation

Also I remember seeing a mumsnet thread with a link to experts in this area where we could ask question. I can’t seem to find it anywhere. So if anyone knows where this is could you please send a link?

Thanks

My DD waited for the choice of vaccines because she has period issues as it is. Her doctor agreed with her. Two of DDs had their periods messed up for months. So did their friends. So in terms of the time of the month to get it, I would say get it asap, rather than what you are asking.

This was on one thread.

The link says that straight after the vaccine the womb sheds it's lining.

I put in Mumsnet Covid vaccine and periods. A few threads came up.

@Ponoka7 I’m thinking that if I got it say a week before my period (in the next few days) then it may delay that next period. This would push back ivf.

But I’m wondering if I got it during my next period then it might not affect the next period after that. So transfer would go ahead roughly when expected.

I got my jab while I had my period and it didn't get messed up. I do have PCOS so irregular periods are already a thing for me. But why don't you ask your clinic or a gp? You can ask at the fertility online summit that is happening around the end of the month.

I got my jab 5 or 6 days before I ovulated, it didn't mess up my ovulation because on that cycle in conceived after 7 years trying off and on. I have heard some people say it messed with their periods but it hasn't happened to anyone i know in real life so I'm guessing it's not as frequent as you might think. Could the clinic advise you on when is the best time?
