DS is 14, started year 10 last Wednesday at a new school. He’d previously gone to an all boys school but now he goes to a mixed school. DS enjoyed the first 2 days at the school, but on Friday he came home and was a bit upset, he told me he'd had PE last lesson and a few boys had been calling him gay for staring at them but DS wasn't staring, I told him to ignore them as they were just looking for DS to retaliate, he then came home in a good mood on Monday and Tuesday, yesterday, he was upset again as the same boys were telling DS to ‘go back to where he came from’ (the all boys school).

Today, when I picked DS up he was very quiet, he told me that the same boys (again!) had been calling him gay, telling DS no one wants him at the school etc throughout the day, and then at lunch time one of the boys threw DS’s lunch in the bin and they told him to follow them, they took DS to the field (which was out of view of the teachers) and shoved him to the floor and started kicking him multiple times, when DS had gotten up he punched one of the boys and the boys went and told the teacher and DS was put into isolation, DS told me he did try to explain what happened but no one would listen.

DS has begged me not to send him back (which I'm not planning on!) he has bruises all over his body, especially his stomach and his back.

The school haven't done anything so WIBU to report them to Ofsted? I've already planned on reporting the assault to the police

I just feel so angry and can't believe how cruel other students can be!

I would report to the police immediately. It's assault, and the police will no doubt inform the school.

SisterMonicaJoansHabit · 09/09/2021 22:25

Please ring the police. That's really not on.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 09/09/2021 22:26

I'd ring the police as well especially because the school aren't dealing with it. Make sure you take photographs of the bruises!

LadyCatStark · 09/09/2021 22:26

Yes report them and ring the police but also take pictures of the bruises so you have evidence.

So sorry for your poor DS. I hope he will be OK.

The school are dicks. Absolutely take it further. Take photos of his injuries as they develop over the next few days.
