Aibu that 40 mins is a long wait?

I get my nails done every 3 weeks. It’s my one beauty treatment I pay to have done professionally (I’m really rubbish at painting them myself). I usually get gels and a pattern/design and it’s £35.

I’ve been coming to the same place for 6 months now so not exactly a new customer. It’s all run by one girl on her own.

My appointment was at 6:20pm today. I have arrived on time and she wasn’t done with the person before me. No problem I don’t mind waiting at all. But it’s acrylic nails and it doesn’t look like she’s anywhere near finished but I figure maybe I’m wrong and sit down.

It’s now been 40 minutes and she hasn’t even checked on me or apologised for the wait.

Aibu to think it’s rude? How long would you wait before you just got up and left? Or am I being unreasonable and should I give her the benefit of the doubt as she runs the shop alone?

For context this isn’t the first time I’ve had to wait but it’s the longest

I wouldn't go back and tell her why

Unacceptable for such a wait without an explanation or apology. Shows you exactly what she thinks of your £600 per year. I'd go elsewhere.

was going to say that she's taken in a fly extra client at some point and has been playing catchup all afternoon.

My nail tech was a bit flaky, but did a really good job so I sort of went with it, but I had no where else to be, and she would do extra things like glitter/stamps/different colours/replacement nails and not charge extra

anyhoo I do my own now...lockdown has saved me a fortune!
