Someone in our household has tested positive for Covid on Tuesday this week. Next weekend we were supposed to be having guests over (planned for ages). My partner thinks it will be ok to go ahead with plans as next weekend takes us past the 10 day period plus person who tested positive won't be in the house at time of the gathering. I'm unsure what to do.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't personally.

At the very least you tell the guests now so they are aware of the situation and can decide.

I'd also be testing the rest of the household before anyone came into the house.

I'd just be completely upfront and tell your friends what you've said in your post, that the event will be after the 10 day isolation and the sick person has left your household, and then let them decide - if enough say they don't want to, I'd look into postponing. If I was your guest I'd still come, as long as no one else in your family got sick in the meantime. But different people are assessing risk differently so don't be offended if people aren't keen.

Notify your friends.
i wouldn't care myself, but let them make informed decision.
