Am I a hypocrite for being on SM but not sharing anything about my own life?

Personally, I think if people want to share, they can but I’m bring lambasted (well, criticised) for “taking” but not “giving”

You would only be a hypocrite if you were demanding others share personal info on Facebook while refusing to do so yourself.

Meh, I don't really care if people like or read my posts. I just don't want random inactive social accounts following me as I find it weird that they want to follow me but give nothing back in terms of updating me on their life. You see, if I don't care about them liking my posts and I don't find anything out about their life through social, then what is the point of having them as a friend? I'd happily still be friends with them outside of social media though and catch up that way.

I'm on FB and Instagram. I don't post anything. On FB, I'm down as Single even though I'm married I have no info on my children. DH posted a photo with names when theu were born but that's it.
I'm on FB for groups, and IG for the book community on there but I don't post anything on either 🤷
So YANBU to me.
