There's so much conflicting advice about covid rules on the net. I know there's no requirement for covid testing, digital vacine cert to enter the UK from Ireland...but what about the UK to Ireland. If someone has proof of both vacines do they still have to test? Has anyone travelled recently?

No test needed. It's the same both ways.

Though at the moment you need your cert to eat inside in theory, and wear a mask.

ponyexpress22 · 07/09/2021 18:18

But I think you need the digital cert to enter Ireland from the UK. I just wondered if a test required too.

I've travelled to Belfast twice recently and apart from a mask on the plane there were no other requirements

TheAverageUser · 07/09/2021 18:26

I have a 2 year old and 4 year old, do they need to test going over or coming back? Me and DH have certs.

Once you have a Covid Cert and fill out a locator form, you do not need PCR test.

I presumed the OP meant travel to Ireland, rather than within the UK.

Mind you, I also presumed she had a digital cert!!

Check out the government sites @ponyexpress22, they'll give you the information you need.

Northern Ireland is part of the U.K. (except for brexit purposes!) so no proof of anything needed, but all sorts for taking animals!

In Southern Ireland it will be different as not U.K. based and I thought they had tougher rules (but they may have been relaxed). Have a look on the Ireland government website for information

Belfast is in the Uk and not in Ireland Hmm
ponyexpress22 · 07/09/2021 18:54

Yes I have looked on their web sites. Some say the covid cert is all that's needed, others say the test as well. Yes it's Ireland I'm referring to not Northern Ireland where nothing is needed.

This is correct.

Thank you, that seems to clear it up.
