How long it took you?

4 stone has taken me 10 months. I still have 3 to go! It's getting much harder now as I need a lot less calories

VapeVamp12 · 07/09/2021 11:43

Loose skin on tummy mainly.

SprogletsMum · 07/09/2021 11:46

I lost 7 stone in 6 months. Had a bit of loose skin in most places.
Dc4 and a bereavement saw me putting the entire lot back on. I'm starting again very soon.

41sunnydays · 07/09/2021 11:50

I lost 4.5 stone in about 11 months, through diet and exercise unfortunately put it all back on. But loose over hanging tummy was a massive issue.

Troisfoisfilles · 07/09/2021 15:09

I lost 4.5 stone with keto over 11 months. Was very strict for about 3 months, then slowly introduced a few carbs here and there and now eat normally. I have maintained for almost 2 years. Was the best thing I ever did. It seemed to almost ‘reset’ my metabolism so I don’t put weight on for every little thing I eat (this is what used to happen, I swear!).
I know keto isn’t for everyone (I was never a big carb eater or a sweet tooth at all), but it’s definitely worth a go!

Troisfoisfilles · 07/09/2021 15:10

@hollyberrytree

Can I ask all those that replied - do you have lose skin?

I'm the wrong side of 50. I don't know if my skin would bounce back.

I definitely have loose skin. It’s awful and I’m saving for surgery to remove it. But I think I’m worse than most- just have very un-elastic skin I suppose 😞
danni0509 · 07/09/2021 15:10

Can I ask those who lost the weight (well done by the way)

Do you have any loose skin?

danni0509 · 07/09/2021 15:11

Sorry just seen it’s already been asked.

MadameOvary81 · 07/09/2021 16:11

100lbs - almost 2 and half years, but I have PCOS and it was a real struggle. I was on 1200 cals a day and exercising anywhere between 2-6 hours a day! It almost killed me, but i've managed to keep it off for 12 years without much effort.

MadameOvary81 · 07/09/2021 16:14

No but I exercised regularly from the minute I started to diet. My weight was all primarily on my abdomen, too.
Elle200 · 07/09/2021 16:17

Lost 54kg in 18 months, another 12 to go till target weight. Am also the wrong side of fifty and have horrible loose skin on arms, stomach and thighs.

Donatella · 07/09/2021 16:19

I've lost 8stone so far, just under 2 years, the first 5 or 6 probably took me about a year, maybe a bit less. Skin isn't too bad so far, just a bit loose on my neck, but I've still got quite a bit to lose so may get worse, I'm hoping that losing it slowly will help

LaurieFairyCake · 07/09/2021 16:26

4 stone now in 1 year. (Surgery, not dieting)

No loose skin, no exercise Grin

regthetabbycat · 07/09/2021 16:40

I lost 10 stone in about as many months on a low carb diet.

I've maintained the loss for 8 years and have recently lost a further 1/2 stone.

StanVic49 · 07/09/2021 17:56

4 stone in 6 months and a total of 6 in 12 months and have maintained for 3 years so far.

Dreamstate · 07/09/2021 18:04

I combine intermittent fasting with keto and weights at gym and lost 1 stone in 2 weeks 💪 weight training is helping me tone and will reduce possibility of loose skin.

NatashaRf · 07/09/2021 18:04

9 months to lose 6 stone.

Daffodil123456 · 07/09/2021 20:40

I lost 4 stone in 5-6 months but I was pushing myself

How did you do it?
Justilou1 · 08/09/2021 01:22

@hollyberrytree - Regarding the skin thing - As I said before, I have lost 10.3 stones. I have kept it off. I have a little bit of “Nanna Flap” happening in my upper arms and my tummy will always hang low. BUT I am also just a wee bit over 5ft tall and carried twins and another baby to term, and had two c-sections. Because I have moved, most people here have no idea how big I was and they comment on how great my skin looks. (I also live in hot part of Australia, so it’s hard to hide it.) I am bloody lucky with my skin. I don’t know if it’s genetics or the fact that my very strict diet excludes inflammatory and processed foods, or both, but I take fish oil supplements and Vitamin D as well. I thought I would share some photos to get you inspired… the photo where I’m large is certainly not me at my biggest. I think I gained at least another 20-30kgs on top of that. Like all big girls, I avoided cameras like the plague. I think I was about 34/35 in that photo and the next one was in March this year when I was 48.

I'm 53, I averaged a stone a month, no loose skin. I'm on the Exante diet forum on FB, lots don't get loose skin. Some get laser or fibroblasting treatment to get rid of excess skin.

Amazing weight loss! You are unrecognisable from the first photo! How did you do it?

Justilou1 · 08/09/2021 02:47

A medically-balanced keto diet. (Not the Pinterest, all you can eat bacon, coconut in the coffee kind.)

hollyberrytree · 08/09/2021 06:09

@Elle200
Was it worth it? Do you have any benefits?
Thanks

Elle200 · 08/09/2021 12:15

@hollyberrytree, yes it's definitely worth it, when I'm dressed I look and feel much better, I can now buy clothes in normal sizes!

I recently had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer, so between that, my loose skin, and my sagging belly I am a sight to behold when naked! I would love a tummy tuck and am going to look into the cost of this privately.
