Female, mid thirties, 173lbs.

I'm tired, overweight, unfit.

They just discovered a polyp on my gallbladder after months and months of illness. Apparently its too small to be causing these symptoms.

Nausea, fatigue, ache in the gallbladder area, bloating, stomach pain, loss of appetite.

This summer I've had shingles (badly), a nasty virus and am now on a nasty bout of Coldsores.

I'm SO run down and so tired. I need to exercise more, eat better, have a tidier house. I'm cutting back on work this year despite being in stacks of debt.

I have a preschooler and one about to start school. Dh does his very best to support but has to work, study for his degree, have the kids when I work, pitch in with chores, etc.

I don't know what's wrong with me. My kids don't have the best version of me, I'm neglecting my friends.

Where do I even start? I'm desperate and broken

You are at the pinnacle of tough in my opinion, I found the baby years tough - but actually once both children are mobile but not old enough for consequences its hard!

You sound so tired, and run down, can you take good multi vitamins? Could you carve out a day or two where you can just down tools and rest?

Another strategy could be looking into a diet that avoids aggrevating your gall bladder (I imagine that would be fats), but please try to avoid blaming and the "shoulds", try and focus on just making one change as it can feel so overwhelming tackling it all at once.

I think the 12 month age gap and working evenings and then covid has been a perfect storm.

I'm trying to eat cleaner and am benefiting but the cold sores and shingles show how run down I am.

I'm taking anti depressants, vitamin d, probiotics, iron and a multivitamin.

Husband has been at uni this weekend and I've done bugger all with the kids. I feel guilty but at the same time, just incapable. Every time I stand up my head spins

You sound like you're ill, or you haven't yet recovered and it's knocked you for six. Have you got any family or friends who can help out while you recover?

If not, it's not the end of the world, it's just that getting better will take longer - so rather than get frustrated or blame yourself, accepting that you're not 100% and that something has to give (and that doesn't always have to be you) - so that might mean a less tidy house gets chucked in the fuck it bucket until your able to take it to task.

Have you had any recent blood tests?

Justanotherquestioner · 05/09/2021 16:15

Recent blood tests showed that I'm not coeliac, have slightly low vitamin d but within normal bounds and that's about it. Thyroid ok

Unfortunately my finances are going to give. I've booked a lot less work this year than last year

This is the thing, the vit d levels in this country are set to very low. (Look it up it's true!)
I would get some supplements and eat more vit d friendly foods, it can cause havoc on your immune system if it's low.

Justanotherquestioner · 06/09/2021 10:21

I'll definitely try to boost my vitamin D more. Awaiting my preferred gp to get back from annual leave.
I've not got 8 cold sore blisters. No wonder I feel ill
