Is having a laptop on my bed for online uni ok?

I'm starting a PGCE very soon and some advice please

Where would be the best place to tale my laptop for online lessons, the only two places I can think of is the dining room table however the fridge about every once in awhile makes a loud humming noise for about 30 seconds which could be distracting. Or the only other place I can think of is my bed but is that unprofessional? I have a lovely computer which would be perfect however I do not have a camera on it which is a shame.

What would be the best thing to do if anyone of you could advice me on at all?

If you can have camera on most of the time, that's far more professional, also makes you the student focus more and not start checking Facebook and also it's nicer for the presenter to see people watching and reacting.

Just blur your background when you are on camera

I mean, if they’re that bothered about their students having to work from unsuitable places they could always return to face to face lectures.

Also u can have a "fake" background on Teams and Zoom.

I lecture and always get the students to go on cam and answer questions to make sure they are engaged (haven't fucked off to watch Homes under the Hammer).
It wouldn't bother me if someone was is their bedroom, a lot of students in halls are.

I work from home 1/2 the time. I work from my bed half of that. I only go downstairs for important meetings. Just make sure you change your background
