How much electricity wasted before pulling the plug?

I’ve actually turned into my dad. I remember as a kid getting called in if I had left the TV on to turn it off.

Anyho, my boyfriend is the worst for leaving TVs on. He rarely turns them off - never from the wall if he does. More often than not he’ll have two on at once as he poodles from the kitchen to the living room.

Anyho, I’ve taken to just pulling the plugs if he’s left them for more than 15minutes which has turned into him moaning that he’s lost his game progress (Xbox) or whatever.

Just to put into context him moving in has cased my electricity bill to go up 8x higher but I have charged him extra board to cover it.

AIBU that it really pisses me off?

It's all about mining Bitcoin these days. Police are breaking into properties expecting to find cannabis farms and but instead there are banks of computers chugging away.

You would piss me off so much by doing this. Your bills don't go up that much from someone else moving in. No fucking way. Just no.

He's right - you can lose game progress, which may be something you wouldn't be bothered about, but if he's just nipped away to grab a shower or get something to eat I wouldn't turn it off either. It takes a while to turn consoles on, load games etc.

It's fair enough if he's leaving things on and just never coming back to them - keep telling him. But don't fucking unplug things he was using for god's sake. It'd be infuriating.

Mining Bitcoin using stolen electricity is also happening closer to home.

I am definitely someone who turns off lights but my bugbear is the billowing steam from our kids shower room.

One son will spend 30 minutes under it if he gets a chance.

Drives me bloody mad.
It's not a sauna room but resembles it sometimes.
