This motorcyclist was being careless

I am driving a car on the motorway in a traffic jam due to an accident up ahead. There are three lanes of traffic and I’m in the middle lane. All of a sudden a police motorbike comes up between me and the inside lane, light flashing, struggling to get through. I begin to move over to my left when a motorbike comes through in between the middle and outside lane and I could have hit him.

While I should have looked more carefully, AIBU to think a motorcyclist is crazy to be whizzing down in such a situation, especially with a police bike coming?

The motorcyclist should be much more careful. I remember seeing a helmet cam video of a motorcyclist who pulled out and accelerated so fast along a road only to collide with a car who pulled out further ahead because they didn’t see him. Had he not been accelerating that way he might have had more chance to take action and not end up dead, despite the car driver being at fault

This is my thinking. Great, you're allowed to filter and you did. A car driver does something they're allowed to at the same time. The car driver is fine, probably distressed, but fine.

I would have been frustrated too op, it sounds like the motorcyclist should have held off for a few minutes, surely he could see cars ahead were trying to make way for something (and what else could it be but police or another emergency vehicle).
