Smokers: how much do you spend on your habit per week?

Long term smoker of 10 years. My habit rocketed after a period of high stress and I'm now formulating a plan to quit after looking at the finances and realising I'm wasting hundreds of pounds every month, not to mention the detrimental effect on my health. My aim is to have quit completely within 4 weeks! no lectures please, I'm trying

Those of you who smoke (or did) how much was you spending per week/month?

I downloaded the since I quit app on my phone the day I stopped smoking which was just over 7 ago. In that time I've not smoked 52,102 cigarettes and saved myself £23,447 in the process. Stupid stupid habit 🤮

Thank you for the replies, they make for interesting reading. Horrid habit, isn't it?

Regarding how we spend hundreds a month, OH smokes aswell. Our brand costs just under £10 per packet and we buy multiple per day.

I got so comfortable in the addiction I didn't want to acknowledge just how much we've been pissing up the wall Sad

The Alan Carr book - what does it entail? Like what's the method he encourages? Will have a look definitely.

I quit years ago when you could still buy packs of ten.
I suppose I smoked ten a day, fifteen if on a night out so it cost me maybe forty quid a week.

DH smokes twenty a day, I guess he spends £70 a week. Stupid man.

DH and I have just quit again having previously had years off the fags and starting again last year like idiots. Crept up from one or two cigs a day to a packet every two days which isn’t huge amounts but is ridiculous when we are scrabbling for money at the end of the month - at £12ish a pack that soon adds up. He’s back to vaping and I’ve got the nicorette spray thing to try. Two days down so far and not needed the spray yet but back to work tomorrow and going into the garden for a cigarette is my mental break so need to find something to replace it!
