Colour scheme. Too much?

What are your thoughts on a half lounge / half playroom with this colour scheme. My husband thinks there's too many colours but I'm loving the green, coral, mustard colours which we'd use in accessories / rug / artwork and then neutral painted walls. Thoughts and any recommendations? Thanks.

@pinksquash13 hang on - you’re basing an entire interior design scheme for your home on an H&M storage basket? Am I missing something here? Confused

this has a touch more green..

Like most things - it's all about the execution.....

The colours compliment each other, but too much is always, well, too much.

With neutral walls/flooring as you mentioned I think it could work well by using those colours in soft furnishings/art work and other accessories.

I like it. Not primary colors, which is too "little kid", slightly sophisticated and the colors look good together.

Will look good on neutral background.

You need to compromise. It shouldn't be just your decision.
I'd drop one of the colours and ask him again.

@Ginspiration I love those! I never think of looking at Dunelm for rugs (after a new one myself, and colour scheme!) Really like the brights!

Almost everything you buy has been designed with a colour scheme in mind.
The basket has the green, coral, mustard scheme/palette.

(Google ‘green, coral, mustard colour palette’ and you’ll see loads of examples/variations used in interiors)

Out of stock in most sizes at the moment but keeps coming back.

I have this!

Really lovely, and so nice that it’s not the ubiquitous grey!

billy1966 · 01/09/2021 07:14

Lovely soft colours.
Don't forget as much storage as you can.

I used several large blanket boxes which were painted to blend in with my colour scheme. Inside the boxes were 2 large plastic boxes which were easy to take out and made for easy access to the toys.

I still have them in my back hall today many years later holding some of the endless shoes we all have.

Jelly tots!

The second picture posted on the thread looks lovely. Don't overdo the colours and I think it will look great.

I always tend to do this! Find something as a starting point and go on from there.

La redoute have some lovely furnishings. Also Dunelm and Wayfair

FangsForTheMemory · 01/09/2021 10:05

I really like it, not overpowering at all.

I love it - i have a very colourful house and used the above fabric for curtains cushions and blinds. Such a welcome change from grey!

Thank you lovely people from the Internet! This is the feedback I needed to hear. I love some of the rug suggestions. Plus you've given me some new websites to consider. Stupidly hadn't considered Dunelm. I think I've got DH on board.
