First time I’ve watched in a week or so, was loving Ruth and Eamon on, now just Eamon 🤷🏻‍♀️
At least it’s not Pip & squeak I guess

I thought Eamon and Ruth were unceremoniously dumped in favour of Alison Hammond and Dermot on Fridays? So it would be pretty humiliating to have to act as stand-ins for what used to be your job. If the producers called her last minute I hope Ruth told them to go fuck themselves.

Eamon and Ruth didn't have their Friday contract renewed but retained the school holiday job.

I watch This Morning every day except in the summer when they’re hosting. They’re just unbearable and yes, thankfully, have been ousted.

But nobody really cares if their male or female. That's the point. It's the content that counts & they are just not delivering It's like a self serving PR machine, churning it out

That’s wholly anecdotal. If the public liked Eamon and Ruth they wouldn’t have been dropped from the Friday slot.

Phillip and Holly are on everything because the majority of the general public love them.

The entertainment industry is a business. They only keep presenters who bring in consistently high viewing figures, else the show would be unprofitable.

Whether your or your friends or your Auntie Mary personally like them is neither here nor there.

They bring in the viewers, so they stay.

After Ruth and Eamon were dropped, Alison and Dermot boosted the Friday viewing figures by 44%.

Entertainment bosses care about viewing figures, nothing more. So if viewers were declining under Eamon and Ruth, they get dropped. It’s really as simple as that.

@seaandsandcastles Nope, I don’t believe that’s the case in this instance..it isn’t merely someone’s Auntie who doesn’t like them, I’ve heard it, read it..everywhere. It just doesn’t make sense. I believe that once upon a time P & H were liked, but most definitely not in the last couple of years. P is up there with all the big bosses apparently, so who knows what goes on, I don’t see it as the public liking them at all

You can hear and read whatever you want. Viewing figures are what they care about and are what influences the hosts - that goes for every show, not just This Morning.

Take Piers Morgan for example - universally hated yet he brought in masses of viewers.

I think the whole show could go with a huge overhaul.

What do Philip & Holly bring 🤷🏻‍♀️I find it bizarre that they’re on everything, viewers don’t really have a choice, they dominant everything, same as Ant & Dec (don’t mind them) and a few others, they’re all under the same management. All the controversy centred around P.S and he’s still on our screens?! Come on now, something a bit dodgy

They might as well show repeats every week. The fashion and cookery especially, and the problems phone in.
The big news stories of the day have already been chewed over by GMB earlier in the day, and yet they all have to be discussed again by Matthew Wright and other z listers.
They don't seem to get great guests on any more either, it's all a bit meh.
