AIBU to think this is not a reasonable argument in an argument

When arguing my partner always asks why I focus on the bad things and not mention the good. I counter they are irrelevant, good things don't make the bad things less bad. AIBU?

I think it’s always worth following the shit sandwich

Good/improving thing
Bad thing you want to change
Good thing

Depends.

If the bad thing is "you punched me in the face", then it really doesn't matter if he always changes the cat litter. But it does make a difference if the bad thing is "you never empty the dishwasher."

It really depends on what the argument is.

If you are arguing over the fact that the other person always leaves their shoes out, but that person does the vast majority of the housework, I think its relevant

If you are arguing over 'you didn't pay me attention last night' but they do go out of their way to make sure they spend time time you most nights, it's relevant.

If you are arguing and saying 'I don't think you love me because you don't but my flowers' but they do loads of other things that show love it's relevant.

If you are arguing because they have been cheating, it's probably not relevant that they are usually a decent parent
