To think Dd shouldn’t wake up at 5 am?

Dd, 14, has woken up at 6.30 am every day in the summer hols. She sets her alarm because she’s worried about sleeping in. She won’t go out with her friends, or make plans - but she likes to get up early and always wants to know what time it is. She’s now saying that next week she’ll set her alarm for 5 am so she can get ready for school. Realistically she could get up at 8 and still be ready for school on time. She seems v controlling and rigid - any deviation makes her anxious. AIBU to worry?

She sounds quite anxious, 5am sounds quite extreme.
I would be concerned about her social relationships too. Does she have any outside interests?

She likes reading and being read to - I’m reading Pride and Prejudice to her at the moment. She loves watching films. She likes theatre too. She doesn’t have any hobbies really though.

I'd definitely get her assessed for ASD. I was alot like her at that age and didn't get diagnosed till 18. She could do with some coping mechanisms.

I would also suggest a ASD appointment. It presents different in girls. I spent years thinking I was odd, and trying to fit it to what I was supposed to like or being doing.
