To ask what jobs wfh I could do

I know this sounds a little pathetic but I haven’t worked for the last 15 years since the birth of my first child. I’ve struggled with crippling anxiety and the thought of trying to find a job is huge. My last role was admin support to a sales team, which was quite varied attending meetings in different parts of the county and also organising events. I have totally lost all my confidence over the years but know I need to get some sort of part time work, but preferably at home. I really don’t mind how mind boring dull it is. Any thoughts or advice on where to start please.

If you are proficient at typing then audio typing could possibly be an option, definitely easy to do from home once set up.

Have you considered agency/temporary work to give you a little flavour of getting back into work? My friend was looking recently (well, actually about six months ago) and there seemed to be a lot of call handler type jobs from home available. With covid restrictions easing there may not be so many now but with agency work there's not as much pressure with interviews, etc, and you can leave whenever you like.

DS has applied for a couple of apprenticeships in office type roles and both are wfh, for now. However they didn’t state that on the application so not all places are advertising the fact. I think a lot of us that wfh came into it from initially being in the workplace. Although covid may have changed that. I second contacting an agency and see what they have available.

Would you be happy to do induction or training out of home?

Try your local council. Huge variety of roles, including business support.

If you have not worked for 15 years, I'd suggest doing some courses on things like using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, the Google suite of programmes like Sheets, Calendar, Hangout etc. Also Microsoft Teams/Slack/Zoom are vital for WFH roles.
Things will have moved on quite a bit in 15 years so might be good to show you are keeping up. You don't need to be an expert but at least have passing familiarity with them

Where in the country are you based? Some WFH roles would still require you to go into an office a few days a month for meetings or training. For example this one is four days a week at home and one in an office in Darlington

Do you have any qualifications? My friend freelances as a content writer. Usually between £50-100 a pop. Things like writing 'about me' pages for sites and the like.
