I really need help

I have been having the most horrific night sweats : think wet bed can't use it can't use pillows or duvet all have to be changed

6 plus swaps of pyjamas a night
House is not too hot or too cold

I am not menopausal I have just found out I am pregnant though

I had sweats like this when I stopped taking tramadol and other opiates

But I'm not in withdrawal

I don't have an infection
I am pregnant just found out: about 8 weeks

How can I cope
I am going to lose my shit with the laundry the isolation and the fact I am fucking tired

what do I do

Please help me

I also have breast clinic on Monday but bloods looked ok. So it's something else
Please please help me it's the worst

I think that sounds really complex, re: your health anxiety, and I’m glad you’ll be able to talk to someone.

For me, there’s a difference between someone who has health anxiety and nothing wrong (or maybe one bruise they can’t explain) and someone who has health anxiety and has had a lot of symptoms of unwellness over the years, especially when you mention your joints swelling. I think it’s kind of logical that some women develop health anxiety when left to try to figure out their symptoms themselves: despite the fact that three times as many women as men have rheumatoid arthritis, the average physician referral for it for a man happens in three weeks and for a woman, it takes THREE MONTHS. And that’s just the referral. And that’s just one disease. Sigh. So I do understand how your health anxiety probably developed. You’ve been trying to find an answer quickly, because you’re unhappy and unwell, and your doctor maybe isn't zooming to fix it because they might be very busy and assume these symptoms happen every day. But they also might not have communicated that AND they don’t have to live them. Like I said, it can all be difficult.

With that said, next time you get the mouth ulcers, I would have them take a sample, as that may help them with a rheumatology diagnosis.

(Also I hit the emoji key and almost out a party hat in the middle of diagnosis, inappropriate, but it IS your birthday 🥳 so now that you’re showered, even though you’re exhausted, try to enjoy some of it).

Ladies thank you for all of this support

I cannot express how much better I feel for it

Really helpful information from everyone. Thank you for making me feel heard.

My husband has just gone to get me some champagne so I can have a little sip before my birthday meal 💙

@RightYesButNo

I think you're right there. I just don't want to burden someone with my problems. I don't know if I focus too much on my body and how it feels.

I have over come a lot with it and it is obviously still in fair enough condition to get pregnant.

I pay for private medics nearly all of the time but when it's acute I try to use my GP because I actually live a long way from London in the car, it's nearly 3 hours to get there from Margate where I live.

Hopefully it's hormonal, the lady I am seeing on Monday has handled both of my previously pregnancies and the midwives know me very well so will mind me.

Bringing in treats for them regularly has obviously paid off 🤣

Thank you for taking the time to write an extensive reply with lots of information and courtesy

G xxx

Hey I have come back to update

The night sweats have calmed down I didn't change clothes on Sunday night and on Monday night only once

What's the difference? I've been really really really low sugar and I didn't realise that the juice wasn't doing it

I am so sick at the moment with the vomiting but had soMe bread thru the night and before bed the last few nights
Ive done it again this evening but have gotten sick so not sure if it will tide me over

Breast clinic said I am very slim and weight loss will change how my boobs feel
They are symmetrical and apparently there is NOTHING nasty that was felt

Apparently v common after the Covid injection, I have raised it with the yellow card scheme so it isnt Just anecdotal for doctors going forwards

Scan tomorrow to date the pregnancy too

Thanks all for the love and support xxxxx

Hi OP, I recognise the dampness and the worse without PJs. I had night sweats for years, saw chest physicians, infectious disease consultants, endocrinologists and more. My GP put me on ditropan off license which is a bed wetting medication and it changed my life within a week!

I used to be so angry that I couldn't sleep it was awful!

I know you might have found a trigger and you're pregnant so this might not be for you but there's a modicum of hope!

cultkid · 24/08/2021 22:49

Omg @Mrsmorton this is really really helpful

I do have an over active bladder too

I'm normally only drenched in withdrawal which Actually is the worst bit of it all for me

But this isn't wirhdrawal so I am hoping that this is Pregnancy related. I've saved that drug into my phone so I can ask for it to try if it happens again

I am hysterical at bed time at the moment trying to make the right ritual xx

All natural fibres are definitely the way to go. A wool or silk duvet can be helpful - I’ve got a wool one and it’s much better for temperature regulation and wicks away the moisture if you are sweating and lets it evaporate.
