Got the bus into town with K, T, L & A Headed to HMV and got my favourite cd. Tried on clothes in River island and Topshop, nothing looked good, the shiny skirt and fluffy top looked amazing on T and she knew it!
Pinched lip liners from Body shop, sprayed some White musk and managed to get out without anyone noticing.
Ate two Boosts and Pickled onion monster munch on the bus home, felt gross, will never be thin now.
Ate Spag Bol for tea and watched 90210 then Blind date.
Met everyone down the passage, pissed on Strongbow super, K robbed 5 embassy off her mum.
Got tickets for Bowlers next week, sooooo excited, hope F goes, I’m wearing my Kangol trainers or Gazelles and a crop top.

shouldistop 🤣The potato cake thing was not well known where I’m from (I don’t think) never heard friends say it, but my background is part Irish..if potato cakes are from there 🤷🏻‍♀️😂I just know I always had them with butter on when ill

It was potato cake that threw me, I don't think the term is used in England and they're potato or tattie scones in Scotland.

So I'm reverting back to Manchester 1995 then Grin

Neverendinggapyear · 21/08/2021 16:22

@AngelicaElizaAndPeggy I didn’t, but I know of that hairstyle well, wasn’t a fan 🤣

1995 Manchester

EffYouSeeKaye · 21/08/2021 16:23

Manchester 97.

EffYouSeeKaye · 21/08/2021 16:24

No 1995.

Sleepinghyena · 21/08/2021 16:24

They are potato cakes where I grew up - North West England.

Neverendinggapyear · 21/08/2021 16:25

Also NW England and my Nan always gave us potato cakes.

MrsPnut · 21/08/2021 16:26

I've changed my mind from Manchester to Oldham or Rochdale.

NigellaSeed · 21/08/2021 16:27
  1. Somewhere "up north"
EverythingsComingUpRoses · 21/08/2021 16:28

I want to say flixton/urmston

GreenTortoise · 21/08/2021 16:29

Definitely about 1996/1998

Neverendinggapyear · 21/08/2021 16:29

‘Such a funny day, went over to T’s house and watched her bake a cake-boring, then we went in her mums room and found a video in her drawer of those gross men dancing, all oiled up, a vibrator and a huge chunk of resin! Knew her mum was always stoned, she’s always ordering pizza.
Came home and mum was pissed off with me as per! Can’t be doing with it

Early 90s, Manchester - or somewhere in the NW. I could have written than 🤣

Any guess pre-1994 is too early. MSCL was only one series, 94-95, then reruns.

Afflecks Palace means definitely Manchester. With the ref to an Adidas zip-up I’m going to say 1995.

SquirryTheSquirrel · 21/08/2021 16:30

Salford 1995

LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 21/08/2021 16:30

No-one in the UK was watching '90210' after about '92. I think ITV only screened one or two series.

Jumpingintosummer · 21/08/2021 16:30

1995/96 Manchester?
I think you are probably a few years older than me (you early 40’s?)
I loved my fluffy top and shiny wrap skirt for the school disco! Remember going to the underground market on a weekend away and thinking I was so cool… my kids still feel like that when we take them to afflecks now Grin.

Potato cakes are tattie scones up here.

MintyCedric · 21/08/2021 16:31

Somewhere in Yorkshire (probs W. Yorks) 1993/4.

Neverendinggapyear · 21/08/2021 16:31

Lots right with the year and more or less the location..it was…1994..Up North..Greater Manchester, a nice suburb in Stockport to be exact 😁

These entries are hilarious.,I’m now a respectable (ish) boring (ish) mum..these make we weep for my youth!
