DH Has always snored but recently it’s got a lot worse and it’s driving me insane. I know I snore too so I’m probably being very pot kettle black here but do you have any tips for how he can quieten it down a bit?
He wears a nasal strip but that doesn’t seem to do anything!

Nadal strips don’t work in my experience. Make him get a sleep study and a cpap machine. I am the extreme snorer and my husband can sleep now. Our lives are both better.

Hopefully you aren’t camping right now!

In seriousness my DH was a snorer. He tried all the home things and nothing worked. About 6mo ago he got a cpap machine and I haven’t heard a peep since.

He should just go to the dr and get it sorted like the medical condition it is. You’ll all be happier.

My dad got a bite plate from his dentist that pushes his lower jaw forward a bit and keeps the airway more open (or something like that…?). He and my mum swear by it. His snoring used to practically shake the house!

My DHs snoring vastly improved when he lost weight (to a mid/low healthy BMI) and stopped drinking as much alcohol. If that sounds like you, do that.

Definitely get him to see his GP. Snoring is so difficult to live with and those who do it should do everything they can to stop.

ask him to go to the drs, as you know its not done on purpose, but hopefully he will do everything he can to try and lessen it

girlmom21 · 20/08/2021 06:51

Is he overweight or does he drink much?

If neither of those are a contributing factor ask him to see the GP.

I got one of these from my dentist and it has made a big difference- I only snore now if I take it out in my sleep!

Separate bedrooms Smile

I read years ago to sew an empty sewing thread spool (the oldfashioned chunky wooden ones I would imagine) to the back of their pyjamas. If he snores lying on his back only then this could work.
