I have a frozen shoulder, and amongst many many everyday tasks, putting a bra on is currently breathtakingly painful. I was in tears in one changing room yesterday as I couldn't get my own bra off and had to call a very sympathetic assistant to help me get re-dressed.
So I've been looking for a front-fastening bra in the hopes that I can at least be confident my boobs are in the right place despite my current structural wonkiness.
Can I find one that is what I would call 'nice' but not £££? Can I hell. Plenty of granny bras, zips from below rib cage to collar bone, lots of sports bras in different colours of restrictive lycra, or the delicateness of Victoria's Secret at £55 each which, despite the M&S lady's suggestion that I might be able to consider it an investment, is waaaay beyond my budget.
I like nice underwear, I have more bras than the usual mumsnet one per day brigade, and I change them every day. I'm happy with supermarket bra and pants sets, or something a bit fancier, but I've never spent more than 15 quid on a bra in my life (even for special occasions
).
There must be thousands of women younger than 70 with a budget that need/want to wear front opening bras, for health reasons, or vanity or whatever. There is a HUGE gap in the market for this, AIBU to ask you where I can get decent non-fugly bras for less than my week's food budget?
Yes I'm happy for the press to lift this (please) and more than happy to be a tester should any manufacturers want to take on a project
