Would you want to know if your DS became a father?

Not sure if I should get involved!

We are in Scotland and DS(16)went back to school on Monday. Earlier, DS told me his friend had been acting weird and he asked him what was wrong and he told him he's a dad, DS was confused, and the friend told him the girl gave birth during the holidays but she doesn't go to their school so DS wouldn't know her. He then told DS not to tell anyone as no one else knows.

If I told his parents, he'd know DS told someone but surely they should know? Or should I stay out if it

The 'they go to another school so you don't know them' is usually trotted about by teenagers when they are telling a big fat lie.

'Yeah, I have boyfriend/girlfriend. They go to another school so you won't know them', actually means 'no I don't have a bf/gf but feel embarrassed about it'

'Oh my god I had such a great weekend I did xyz, with my friend who goes to another school you won't know them', means 'I stayed in all weekend, but feel I have to pretend I did something amazing'.

Its a classic 'this story is not true' line.

It is 100% none of your business. Do not get involved.

I'd say it's more likely to be untrue (the classic "they go to a different school" line) but even so it's not your business. Your DS has trusted you with this so don't betray that.
