Hi posting here for traffic but do any of you have dc going off to university this year and will be subsidising them or leaving them to it.
Have found that my ds will have £179 a month left for first 3 months after he has paid his rent. This is supposed to cover food, travel clothes. Whats your experience of any dc you already have at uni.

He can get a part time job to fund nights out.

@justasking111

When someone works in a university in student services I tend to defer to their superior knowledge regarding the students work experience.
When someone employs people i tend to defer to their superior knowledge regarding employing students….

I am more than happy to believe that some or even most employers don’t look favorably on those students

I don’t however believe that they all do

They do party a lot in their halls, or houses from the pics I'd call that a night out! If I get invited to a friends for drinks/dinner that's a night out - my teens are the same.

They do party a lot in their halls, or houses from the pics I have seen of friends DC's. Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool. They project Disney, Netflix Amazon prime etc onto walls, everyone brings food and drink. Their cooking skills are pretty impressive lads more than lassies.

Just because you can afford three nights out a week doesn't mean housemates can

They're much more boring than their parents were when they went to college 😂😂

More boring? Of course they don’t tell you the exciting bits 😏

Dd worked for a year to build up her savings while still at school. We gave her shopping and paid her train fares home. I know grandad slipped her money and bought her her food shops too. She also got a part time job.
