‘Darling’.
Why does she/her marketing team talk to the rest of us like we’re imbeciles.

It’s everywhere! On her website/FB/Instagram

Is it just me?

Last Xmas my dp bought me some Charlotte tilbury magic cream (it was alright but not worth the money) and a while after I needed to use my dp’s phone to check something online as my phone was dead. Next thing I know a notification from charlotte popped up saying “hello darling dp’s name” and I saw red asking dp “who is this Charlotte why is she messaging you?!”

Damn email notification from Charlotte tilbury Blush

I'm not generally a fan of the makeup but the flawless filter is one of my absolute faves

Earlydancing · 14/08/2021 15:16

For anyone wanting to know what's in the current mystery box, go to YouTube, search lady writes charlotte tilbury August 2021.

She gives a full review and shows colours. She wasn't that impressed...and she's always impressed!

Omg it's over priced shimmery garbage, much better brands out there if you want to splash out.

rottd · 14/08/2021 15:17

It's annoying but I like her products

HelloDulling · 14/08/2021 15:20

Hmm. I call people darling all the time. Perhaps I too am affected. And look like a man.

WorldsBestBoss · 14/08/2021 16:36

I just find being called "darling" so condescending

Same as honey, sweetheart etc 🤮

Her foundations , concealers and most of her lipsticks aren’t shimmery and she has matt eye shadows. 😂
Plumtree391 · 15/08/2021 18:18

I'd never heard of her, had to google her name.

thecognoscenti · 15/08/2021 18:26

It's so wanky. It's all well and good saying 'just don't go on her website or her Insta page then' but the adverts are everywhere. It absolutely puts me off buying her stuff (as does her claim that Pillow Talk suits everyone - it doesn't). I'm not your darling, you don't know me, fuck off.

WorldsBestBoss · 15/08/2021 18:36

Yeah I was conned into pillow talk lipstick - bought without trying (🤦🏼‍♀️)
I just looked decades older and washed out. Absolute waste of money.

I hear you. I tried it and it made me look like a corpse.
RiverSkater · 15/08/2021 18:41

The pillow talk just reduces women sex objects. Vile campaign.

It's an awful shade on me, some of her others are lovely
ToniBranston · 15/08/2021 18:49

I do dislike the adverts full stop. The voiceover, the in-your-face over familiar dumbed down-ness of it all.. It's one of those "blocking and protecting my mental space until I can skip the video" scenarios every time. The words used and apparent modern standard of sophistication just come across instead as conceited and 'common lowest denominator'. That is not leading the way. Appealing to many, sure..
